15 YEARS WORKING IN PALLIATIVE CARE
Established 15 years ago by a group of clinicians and researchers in Northern Ireland, the aim of the Palliative Care Research Forum NI is to encourage collaboration among palliative care researchers and practitioners, in order to improve palliative care research capacity and to promote research initiatives and ideas that are policy relevant, important to service users and stakeholders and which will impact practice and service delivery in Northern Ireland and beyond.
Our diverse membership includes doctors, nurses, pharmacists, Allied Healthcare Professionals and social care providers employed by statutory and charitable sector agencies, who work with palliative care patients and families in hospital, hospice and community settings across Northern Ireland. We also have lecturers, trainers and researchers from Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, Marie Curie, and Northern Ireland Hospices among others. What they all have in common is a keen interest in improving the provision of palliative care through high quality research.
